Formally established in 2025, Los Buckalos Music began over a decade earlier in 2013 as a vehicle for the musical outings, explorations and productions of Matthew Buckley. Developing from a scattered series of self-recorded, self-released songs on Soundcloud to a dedicated personal passion project — a digital EP made in tribute to late Athens, GA musician/songwriter Bill Doss, self-recorded, self-produced and self-released on Bandcamp in 2021 (full-length tribute album still to come). Motivated by events in the American political landscape in 2025 to present songs that are both original and topical, the time came to establish Los Buckalos Music as a proper DIY record label with its inaugural release, the ‘American Songs’ EP by Matthew Buckley & Carly Davis.

Moving forward, Los Buckalos Music continues to produce work that strives to both allow for genuine personal expression and also display a commitment to quality songcraft, production, artwork and packaging for a quality product. Our mission is to SERVE THE SONG.
